What does it mean when a government leads crowds in chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”? This isn’t just geopolitical tension. It reveals something deeper. Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, chants like these have been a regular part of regime rallies in Iran. But Scripture reminds us that behind political power there are often spiritual forces at work. In Daniel 10, the prophet prayed and discovered that the answer to his prayer was delayed because of conflict in the unseen realm. “The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days…” — Daniel 10:13 Empires rise and fall on earth, but the Bible teaches that spiritual warfare often operates behind world events. That is why believers must not lose sight of the real battle. In the middle of a spiritual war, casual Christianity will produce casualties. So we pray — like Daniel prayed.
