Sermon Notes

Proverbs 27:8

Like a bird that wanders from its nest
Is a man who wanders from his place.

Proverbs 12:10

A righteous man regards the life of his animal,
But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Proverbs 12:11

He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

Good to Great: Jim Collins
Breakthrough results come about by a series of good decisions, diligently executed, and accumulated one on top of the other.

Jim Rohn
“Life responds to deserve, not to need/want. Life was not designed to give us what we need. Life was designed to give us what we deserve.”

Proverbs 12:12

The wicked covet the catch of evil men,
But the root of the righteous yields fruit.

The Wicked:
1. Envy evil success
2. Desire what is gained through wrong
3. Rootless, grasping, unstable
The Righteous:
1. Seek God’s approval
2. Produce what is good through faith
3. Rooted, fruitful, enduring

Proverbs 12:13-14

The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips,
But the righteous will come through trouble.
A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,
And the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.

Matthew 12:36

“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.”

Proverbs 12:15

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But he who heeds counsel is wise.

Proverbs 12:16

A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame.
