Gerber & Michelle Perez

Gerber Perez is Guatemalan, and his wife, Michelle, is originally from California. Together with their four children, they have made Guatemala their home as they serve through Mission Impact, where Gerber leads the Healthy Communities ministry. Their mission is to address both the physical and spiritual needs of the communities they serve through healthcare, education, and discipleship.

Healthy Communities Guatemala is dedicated to improving lives in rural Guatemala through healthcare, education, and sustainable development. The ministry meets urgent community needs by operating a medical clinic, leading a diabetes support program, and providing a child nutrition program. They also support local schools by supplying teachers and educational resources, and they are actively involved in early childhood education initiatives. Most recently, they built a preschool in an underserved area, giving young children a safe and strong start in their educational journey.

Michelle, who holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara, plays a vital role in shaping and strengthening the ministry’s educational programs. With a strong background in community development, Gerber has helped guide Healthy Communities into becoming a trusted and vital support system for some of Guatemala’s most vulnerable communities.

Their work is sustained through partnerships with local churches, universities, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative effort to bring lasting change. Through both challenges and victories, they have seen God’s faithful hand at work in the lives of those they serve and in their own family. They remain deeply grateful for the prayers and ongoing support of Landmark Church as they continue their mission of hope and gospel-centered transformation in Guatemala.
