The Seven Churches | Thyatira: When The Church Tolerates Jezebel | Revelation 2:18-29 | Matthew Maher
In Revelation 2:18–29, Jesus addresses the church in Thyatira—the smallest of the seven cities but the one that receives His longest and most sobering letter. What began as compromise in Pergamos becomes corruption in Thyatira—when tolerance toward sin turns into spiritual treason. Jezebel’s story didn’t end in the Old Testament. Her spirit resurfaces in the New Testament church—replacing divine authority with human control, revelation with religion, and intimacy with influence. Through history, that same spirit has been institutionalized: when the Church married the State, hierarchy replaced headship, and the system replaced the Savior. This message exposes the spirit of Jezebel—past, present, and prophetic—and calls the Church back to faithfulness, purity, and repentance before Christ’s return.
