Cancel Culture: Past and Present: Daniel 6:1-10
March 14, 2021
The world’s invitation to unity is actually an invitation to conformity.
Daniel 6:5
Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”
Integrity binds us to God’s favor.
Integrity doesn’t bend under fire.
Daniel 6:6-7
So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: “King Darius, live forever! “All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.”
Spoiler Alert: Man’s plots fall perfectly into God’s plans.
Daniel 6:8-9
“Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.
To man, circumstances may be irreversible; but to God, all circumstances are redeemable.
Daniel 6:10
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
We are never victims of integrity. We can only be victors from integrity.
Daniel 6:10
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
The presence of God is greater than the consequence of man.
While our enemies’ prey, we pray for our enemies.

The frequency of our stops will determine the fervency of our steps.

To become complacent in the reading and heeding of Scripture is to become compliant with the culture.
We are to delay the decay of our day by being in the Way.
