Proverbs 15 part 2

Terence Sikoryak

• "The fear of the Lord turns little into enough, while the absence of God can make abundance feel empty."

• "Letting the wrong people hang around is unfair to all the right people, as they inevitably find themselves compensating for the inadequacies of the wrong people. Worse, it can drive away the best people." — Jim Collins, Good to Great

• If what you are currently doing would produce the "more" and "better" you are seeking in life… the more and better would have already shown up… — Jack Canfield

• The path that moves upward is about consistently making good decisions, diligently executed and accumulated one on top of the other.

The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility. — Proverbs 15:33

Discussion Questions

1. You heard the statement, "Every day you are casting a vote for the person you are becoming." What daily choice or practice is currently moving you closer to the person God created you to be? What habit may be pulling you off course?

2. The message challenged us to ask not only, "What do I want?" but "What am I becoming?" If your current patterns continued for the next five years, what kind of harvest would they produce? Would that be the life you want to leave behind?

3. Walter is old, slow, and diabetic, yet he still hunted because it is his nature. What gifts, passions, or assignments has God placed in you that are still alive? In the time remaining, what would it look like to faithfully live them out instead of drifting?
