Psalm 1: The Way of the Godly Versus The Ungodly

Psalm 1 is a mirror for man to see his condition and a map for man to see his destination.

Psalm 1:1

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful…

Be cautious when listening to anyone who doesn’t listen to God.

Where evil is celebrated, good will be persecuted.

Psalm 1:2

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

What is in our mind determines what we become in time.

Psalm 1:3

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Where the battle rages the most, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved the best.

Psalm 1:4-5

4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

There are only sheep and goats. Sheep know His voice and follow Him at all costs. Goats ignore His voice and rebel against Him which will cost them all.

Psalm 1:6

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

The godly will always be well and the ungodly will always be ill.
