Psalm 13: Are You Spiritually Seeing or Spiritually Sleeping?

August 14, 2024

Psalm 13:1

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

Our circumstances may be true according to feelings but not true according to fact.

Psalm 13:2

How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

Corrie Ten Boom
“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest.”

Psalm 13:3

Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death…

Faith is not blind; it actually sees more. And because it sees more, it is sure of more.

If we do not spiritually see, we will spiritually sleep.

Ephesians 5:14

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

Psalm 13:4

Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

Saying “God’s will be done” should never be an excuse not to do God’s will.

Psalm 13:5

But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

Psalm 13:6

I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.
