A Few Points to Ground You

  • God creates all
  • All are obligated to God as the Creator
  • God makes Himself known to us
  • We are all sinners
  • Christ redeems us
  • All knowledge comes from God’s revelation

Week 2 Focus: The Ten Tenets of Faith

At the foundation of biblical apologetics is the understanding that the faith we defend must begin with the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is not only the Creator, but also the One who reveals truth and redeems sinners.

Because God has made Himself known, every person already has knowledge of Him, even if they suppress it. This is why truth resonates when it is spoken—it connects to what God has already revealed in creation and conscience.

God, in His mercy, often restrains sin and allows space for truth to be heard, giving opportunity for the Gospel to take root.

Understanding Reality Through God

A key principle in this week’s teaching is that every fact in the universe only makes sense in light of God’s plan and purpose.

Creation itself declares His glory (Psalm 19), and all things exist under His sovereign rule. When people attempt to interpret reality apart from God, they distort truth and misuse what He has made.

True understanding comes only when we see the world as God has defined it—through His Word and His authority.

Why This Matters

Biblical apologetics is not about starting from neutral ground—it begins with God.

Every conversation, every argument, and every defense of the faith must be rooted in the truth that:

  • God defines reality
  • God defines truth
  • God is the source of all knowledge

Without this foundation, reasoning collapses into human opinion. With it, we stand on unshakable truth.

Conclusion

Week 2 establishes a critical foundation: all truth is God’s truth.

As believers, we are not inventing arguments—we are pointing people back to the reality they already live in, a world created, sustained, and defined by God.

Understanding this changes how we engage others. We don’t argue from uncertainty—we speak from truth, trusting God to use His Word to open hearts and minds.
