The Illusion of Autonomy: Why Every Man Must Answer to God | Acts 17:16-31 | Nick Johnson

In Acts 17:16–31, Paul encounters a city consumed by idolatry and responds by boldly proclaiming the truth of the gospel. Standing before the philosophers of Athens, he reveals the sovereign Creator who gives life, sustains all things, and governs the nations according to His divine purposes. Paul exposes the foolishness of man's attempts to replace God with the creations of his own imagination and declares God's universal command to repent in light of the coming judgment. This sermon challenges believers to confront the idolatry of our own culture with the same confidence in the gospel, recognizing that genuine transformation begins in the human heart. Ultimately, our hope rests in the risen Jesus Christ, before whom all mankind must one day stand. We believe that too many people are just going to church but have never experienced the transforming power of being the Church.

We intend to change that.
