Jay serves Landmark Church in a part-time Community Pastor role, acting as a liaison with the Ocean City Mayor’s Office and City Council, the OC School Board, local ministers, the OC Chamber of Commerce, and other community organizations. He brings a strong relational foundation to this role, having served with Ocean City Tabernacle for six years prior to joining the Landmark team.

At Landmark, Jay’s favorite part of ministry is spiritually encouraging and praying for the congregation and visitors. His heartbeat is evangelism and discipleship, which makes him especially passionate about participating in Landmark’s many Bible study small groups.

Jay lived in Cherry Hill as a child and grew up at Grace Bible Church of Mt. Laurel. After attending seminary in Dallas, he became an associate pastor there and later served as an assistant pastor at Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, where he managed the small group ministry.

He has been married to Missy since 1987. Missy ministers to children at Landmark, and together they have two children: a son in Texas who started his own storm-chasing business at age 14, and a daughter in Maryland who serves as a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Jay has enjoyed a fruitful professional career while earning several educational degrees and certifications. Yet over time, he has come to recognize that his core identity is not in his accomplishments, but in being a child of God through his trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

One of Jay’s favorite ways to relax is taking prayer walks along the Ocean City beach and walking the boards with Missy.
