The War for Israel: Hated by Hell, Held by Heaven | Revelation 12:13–17 [#36] | Matthew Maher

Revelation 12 closes with the Dragon turning his fury toward Israel. Cast down from heaven and knowing his time is short, Satan persecutes the woman—but every attack is met by the providence and preservation of God. The Dragon may determine to pursue, but God has already determined how He will deliver, where He will preserve, what He will provide, and how long the season will last. In this message, Pastor Matthew Maher explores the prophetic significance of Israel’s flight into the wilderness, the possible geographical clues surrounding her place of refuge, the final three-and-a-half years of the Tribulation, and the flood unleashed by the serpent. Through it all, Revelation 12 reveals a God whose providence goes before every circumstance: He prepares the place before His people ever reach the place. The chapter ends with an enraged Dragon turning his warfare toward those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, the pattern remains: when Satan cannot destroy the covenant root, he attacks the covenant fruit. Yet Revelation 12 leaves no doubt about the outcome. The Dragon’s fury is fierce, but it cannot frustrate the purposes of God. Whatever is chosen by heaven will be hated by hell—but it will be held by the hand of the Almighty.
