Caleb Flynn Trial: Who REALLY Represented Jesus in That Courtroom? | Truth Over Trend w/ Matt Maher

The Caleb Flynn murder trial has sparked outrage, with many questioning Christianity and the Church because of those involved who publicly professed faith in Jesus Christ. And the outrage is understandable. What happened to Ashley Flynn was evil. But don't confuse someone claiming Christ with someone representing Christ. In this Truth Over Trend response, Pastor Matthew Maher examines the striking contrast between Caleb Flynn's courtroom statement and the forgiveness demonstrated by Ashley's father, Todd Smith, and her family. One continued to deny responsibility despite a murder conviction. The other extended forgiveness while still demanding justice. Forgiveness doesn't eliminate consequences. And justice doesn't require hatred. Jesus warned about wolves in sheep's clothing and declared, “You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16) Hypocrisy has been exposed. Evil has been exposed. But Jesus Christ has not been discredited. Don't judge Christ by those who counterfeit His name. Judge those who claim His name by the Christ they profess to follow. 📖 Matthew 7:15–23 Praying for Ashley's family and her children. #CalebFlynn #AshleyFlynn #TruthOverTrend #Christianity #Forgiveness #JesusChrist Thank you for watching a Landmark video.
