- Solomon warns that if you chase wealth at the expense of wisdom you will most likely lose both. Jim Rohn said that we should aspire to be millionaires…not so much for the money, but for what it will make of us. What does he mean? How does that align with Solomon’s wisdom?
- In Proverbs 13:1 Solomon presents Contrasting Responses to Discipline or Direction. Do you see or have you ever seen this at work in your life?
- Proverbs 13:7 Says: There is one who pretends to be rich but has nothing; another pretends to poor but has great wealth. Have you ever seen this? Explain what Scott Galloway means by Burn Rate.
- Explain the quote: “It’s not until the tide goes out that you find out who has been swimming naked.”
- In Proverbs 13:11 Solomon essentially describes The Rules of the Farm. Describe those rules , and how do these rules play out in every day life?

Sermon Notes
Proverbs 23:4-5
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth;
Stop dwelling on it.
When you set your eyes on it, it is gone.
For wealth certainly makes itself wings
Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.
Never chase riches at the expense of personal development—because riches will outrun you and disappear.

Through over confidence comes nothing but strife,
but wisdom is with those who receive counsel.

Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles,
but one who gathers by labor increases it.
