- Solomon writes that Wisdom has built her house on seven pillars…The foundation for those pillars is The Fear of God. Why is the Fear of God essential as the foundation of the house Wisdom built?
- Proverbs teaches that the key to attaining “REAL” peace is the discipline to tame our desires, our reactions and our tongues. How is that working in your life?
- Solomon wrote: The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. What are some disciplines, habits, or rituals that will make us fruitful as follows of Christ? What would you consider a fruitful life?

Sermon Notes
Proverbs 2:2-4
Incline your ear to wisdom,
apply your heart to understanding;
if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Proverbs 9:1-6
Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
She has slaughtered her meat,
She has mixed her wine,
She has also furnished her table.
She has sent out her maidens,
She cries out from the highest places of the city,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!”
As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,
“Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
Forsake foolishness and live,
And go in the way of understanding.
Leviticus 10:3
And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying:
‘By those who come near Me
I must be regarded as holy;
And before all the people
I must be glorified.’
Charles Spurgeon
“His whole character commands our reverence because it is superlatively holy, and his name is to us a word of awe never to be mentioned flippantly, and never to be quoted without earnest thought and prostration of heart before him.”
Psalm 22:3
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel”
James 3:13-18
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and sincere. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Proverbs 15:1

Proverbs 1:5
“Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.”
Philippians 2:3-4
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
Matthew 9:13
“But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
John 15:4-5
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
